The renovation will aim to add some personal touch to the colonial architecture of the hotel. The French architect and decorator Paule de Romeuf will bring the Telfair to a contemporary decoration. Still inspired by the atmosphere of the “Mauritian houses”.

All rooms will become suites “with largely above average areas”. To “reinvent the definition of luxury”, they will have “dedicated” butlers. Staff will also follow “intense training programs in each hotel business” during the closure of the establishment.

The Telfair will enhance its positioning for family holidays (children’s club, teenager and a free baby club) as well as for hosting small groups. The beach service will be reviewed. Wellness professionals will offer clients a tailor-made program and personalized assistance.

The Château de Bel Ombre restaurant will also be renovated by Perrot & Richard. With refined Mauritian regional cuisine, the objective is to position it as “the Table of the South”. The total investment is close to € 10 million (some 450 million Mauritian rupees). In a project that will “create a landscape link between the Hotel Telfair and the Castle of Bel Ombre”.
